Her reconfiguration of the existing cottage has transformed how the space works. The design options she proposed were imaginative and distinctive, balancing practicality with originality. She consistently enhanced the overall scheme with thoughtful design touches and was hands-on throughout much of the specification, helping to develop key design options and bringing her excellent eye for detail to every decision.
Throughout the long course of the project in a remote location, Judy was supportive and collaborative, working closely with all parties to resolve the inevitable practical challenges of a complex build.

The extension infills the northern corner of the original cottage, sitting to the rear and minimising it’s overall impact. Only a slight protrusion from the existing building line offers just a glimpse from the road to the front.
The black treated timber is a juxtaposition to the traditional rural cottage dwellings. Enlarged openings frame views, and provide an improved connection to the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The cottage has been transformed from a compact two bedroom single storey dwelling, to a bright and welcoming family home, with a large open entertaining area, attic space and unobstructed views in all directions.
